As of this morning, Green Turtle Cay’s Lowe Art Gallery is open for the holiday season.
Perched on the hill between Gillam Bay and Black Sound, the Lowe Gallery showcases oil paintings by world-renowned Bahamian artist and Green Turtle Cay native, Alton Lowe.
Reflecting Lowe’s enduring love of his home country, his works depict Bahamian people, island scenes, tropical flowers and wildlife. Lowe’s paintings hang in homes, businesses and galleries around the globe. They’re also featured on more than 100 Bahamian postage stamps, and on the cover of each issue of Abaco Life.
The Lowe Gallery also features a fascinating selection of sculptures by artist James Mastin, creator of Green Turtle Cay’s Loyalist Memorial Sculpture Garden.
Located just a minute or two north of the New Plymouth settlement (look for the signs identifying the driveway), the Lowe Art Gallery is open weekdays 9:30 am – 1:00 pm, or by appointment at (242) 365-4264.
All artwork exhibited at the gallery is available for purchase. Limited edition prints of select Alton Lowe paintings are also available at the Albert Lowe Museum.
The Lowe Art Gallery will remain open until January 25.
I’d love to visit …!
