Today’s Museum Monday photo shows Green Turtle Cay’s Girls’ Brigade (they were similar to Girl Scouts) saluting the Union Jack. My guess is that this photo was taken sometime during the 1940s or early 50s.

Amanda – Do you know anything about the 6-7 young boys, both foreground and background to the right of the Girls’ Brigade, in what appear to be sailor caps, aka “dixie cups”? Where they, perhaps, some kind of youth organization too?

Hi, Gayle. I suspect that the young boys are probably members of the Boy Scouts, which were organized around the same time as the Girls’ Brigade. I was curious about them as well — will let you know if I find out more.
