  1. This is such an amazing piece of TRUE TRADITIONAL HANDICRAFTING ART in addition to being just plain beautiful. I know it took considerable time to create and it definitely reflects the fact that it is a work of love but, unfortunately, I can only wish. I can promise that if I had the $$ to try to outbid the current high bidder, I would. Sadly, or otherwise perhaps 😉 , my focus is more on money for future trips to GTC and other travels that provide me with “forever memories” than such a delightful keepsake piece of memorabilia from any one of those places. I’m sure you have shared before Amanda, but how can those of us from afar make a donation to the Museum if we aren’t quite able to come up with the cash to bid on the quilt? And a suggestion, if I may and if you can get the ladies involved to step forward again. While I can’t afford to bid on the quilt, I would definitely consider bidding on a single, framed or at least able to be framed, square of any size from about 8″x8″ to about 14″x14″. What do you, and they, say?

    • Gayle, thanks for your note. I’m in the process of putting together a website for the Museum, and the plan is that it will include a “donate” button so that folks can contribute online. In the meantime, you can always send contributions to me and I will forward them to the Museum. Love the suggestion about the individual blocks — I’ll pass it on to the quilt ladies and let you know what they say. 🙂 Hope to see you on the cay soon!
